Rv Door Won T Open

I was thinking about cutting the post that the door clamps onto but i m not sure how the post is attached to the frame.

This can be a common problem for rvs with the global lockset. Idiots can t open rv door. The door handle lift the latch to open but it kinda un latches halfway we have taken the door apart and looking at the mechanism it iiis working properly but yhr latch is not clearing the post all the way. Global locks have a small lip that can jam and keep the door from opening.

Gary i own a winnebago journey dl 02. You ll know if you have a global lock because it will have a g on it. The door lock mechanism on my rv started activating. Only one latch will release the other feels like it moves but won t release.

I contacted a lock smith and he was unable to gain access to the motor home. There are 2 latches on either end controlled by center control lever. Same issue with my rv windows locked and door will not unlock. Passenger side large storage compartment won t open. My only apparent fix would be to drill out screws from behind since it is exposed behind front tire. Perhaps you have your key but the lock won t turn the key gets stuck or the door is jammed and won t open.
